What In The World Is Functional Keratin In Skin Care?

If you\’ve spent any time reading about skin health and skin care you\’ll start reading about keratin pretty soon. What is it?

Keratin is found right throughout our bodies. It is a protein that is extremely strong and it can be found in the hard areas of our bodies like our nails and also in the softer areas of our bodies, like skin. A lot of keratin is found in our nails, teeth, hair and skin.

So if that\’s keratin what does functional keratin mean? Functional keratin is keratin that is not changed or denaturalized by the process of extracting it, and is still of use to the skin. It is produced without heat or acid from the wool of sheep.
